Preparing for museum visits

At the start of each new exhibition, the Fondation Beyeler offers an introductory lecture for teachers. A checklist (see below) is also provided to help you plan your museum visit and additional information to prepare the subject.

Introductory lectures are held within the first two weeks of a new exhibition. For dates and times, see here.

• Duration: 90 minutes
• Course is in German
• Cost: CHF 15 per person (incl. admission)
• Limited number of seats. Tickets may be purchased online or at the ticket office.

Checklist for museum visits with school groups

Registration via the online form:

• At least two weeks before the date of the visit.
• Response from the Fondation Beyeler within one business week.
• Registration is valid only with written confirmation.
• Unregistered visits are generally not permitted. If a slot happens to be available, a charge of CHF 50 in addition to the museum admission fee applies.

Planing your visit:

• The Fondation Beyeler helps you with the preparation of the subject by holding an introductory lecture for each exhibition (see above) and by providing information material (see below). For teachers accompanying school groups, admission to the museum is free if the visit has been booked in advance. Please bring the confirmation letter with you.
• Please read the visitor policy for school groups in advance and discuss it with your pupils. 

On the day of your visit:

• Please present the confirmation letter to staff at the ticket office.
• Max. 25 people per group (including accompanying persons). Larger groups will be split; only two groups at a time are allowed in the museum.
