The Fondation Beyeler’s next collection display is connected to Olafur Eliasson’s Life exhibition and explores the relationship between nature and culture in art through selected modern and contemporary art works depicting the human, animal and vegetal realms. Landscapes, still lifes and portraits uncover a dense web of relationships with the environment.

The exhibition shows works by women artists occupying prominent positions within the history of modern art from 1870 to the present day.
"Goya" 10.10.2021 – 23.1.2022
The Fondation Beyeler is presenting one of the most important exhibitions ever devoted to Francisco de Goya outside of Spain. Goya was one of the last major court artists and the first pioneer of modern art.
THE FONDATION BEYELER AT ART BASEL 2021
SEPTEMBER, 19 UNTIL 26 – OPEN DAILY FROM 9 A.M. TO 7 P.M. – The Fondation Beyeler commemorates Ernst Beyeler, the museum founder and co-founder of Art Basel, in 2021, who would have celebrated his 100th birthday this year. During the art fair, the Fondation Beyeler offers a varied programme with the current exhibitions, as well as a wide range of events and activities.
"Machine Concrète," a Dixon x Transmoderna virtual reality installation
SEPTEMBER 20–24 – This virtual reality installation will be sited in the Fondation Beyeler Park. Visitors, equipped with VR glasses, will be able to experience the multidimensional digital version of the museum with a soundtrack of music by Dixon. The installation has been created by modeling elements of reality – Renzo Piano's museum building, works from the Beyeler collection, and the museum park – in 3D, and then reinterpreting the results and interpolating the visual material with music.
Artist Talks: Olafur Eliasson
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 6 P.M. VIA LIVESTREAM – For over 25 years, Olafur Eliasson’s work has explored perception, movement, embodied experience, and feelings of self. In conversation with Hans Ulrich Obrist, Artistic Director, Serpentine Galleries, London, he speaks about his work. Artist Talks is a program organized by the Fondation Beyeler and UBS in which internationally renowned contemporary artists speak about their work.
sun.set w/ Tale of us
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 - In collaboration with Nordstern Basel, a brand new sun.set will take place in the park of the Fondation Beyeler: "Tale Of Us", the poets among the electronic club musicians, make highly emotional art and tell stories with their performances, suspense and dramaturgy included. Whole landscapes emerge in front of the inner eye when listening, individual and directly experienceable. Admission from 3 p.m., music from 5 p.m.. More information on entry on the ticket page.

Online Talk: "PAMELA KRAMLICH ON COLLECTING MEDIA ART"
With over 200 film, video, and media installation works, the Kramlich Collection offers a unique survey of the importance of the moving image and audiovisual media in contemporary art over the last fifty years. The virtual conversation together with Theodora Vischer is co-presented by Muse, the Rolls-Royce Art Programme.

After the success of the virtual art.set with Dixon, one of the most renowned electronic music artist, we are pleased to present to you the "Director's Cut" together with Nordstern Basel. This contains previously unpublished material and is now available in the highest quality (4K). Realised by the creative team of Transmoderna, viewers are immersed in a fully digitised and reinterpreted version of the Fondation Beyeler to the sound of an exclusive set by Dixon.
art.set w/ Adriatique — Fondation Beyeler x Nordstern
For the latest installment of our “art.set” series together with “Nordstern Basel” and “Arte Concert” two outstanding duos meet for the first time: The spherical electro-sounds of Adriatique converge with the iconic presence of the “Thinker” and “Ptolemäus III” sculptures from the recent “Rodin/Arp” exhibition. Their encounter culminates in a unique interplay of sounds and visuals featuring a specially created light display.

Ernst Beyeler was born on 16 July 1921. On the occasion of what would have been his 100th birthday, we are going to take a more personal look at the founder of the Fondation Beyeler.
“What is Art?” Animated Video
Easing viewers straight into the world of art is the focus of a new animated clip presented by UBS and the Fondation Beyeler. The video takes its inspiration from the book “What is Art? 27 Questions 27 Answers” published by the Fondation Beyeler.
The Fondation Beyeler's main goal is to bring art and viewer together. In our guided tours and workshops, we do not only share knowledge about artists, works, and epochs. We create above all a space in which to deepen observations and exchange different views, perceptions, thoughts, and feelings.
Film and Game "Das Dingsda im Museum"
The new museum game invites children and adults to discover the works of art based on questions in a playful way and in exchange with each other. It can be borrowed free of charge from the Art Shop of the Fondation Beyeler for your museum visit and is suitable for every exhibition. Only avaible in German.
