Together with the Institute Art Gender Nature at the FHNW School of Art and Design in Basel, we welcome performance artist Sophie Jung to the Fondation Beyeler as the host of this ‘Friday Beyeler’ evening. Jung’s event invites visitors to create a shared space of joyful discomfort. ‘Cringe Care’ takes the format of an open mic night and offers a supportive platform for all those ready to face shame, absurdity and hilarity together. From dancing to singing to reciting poetry – on this evening in the museum, the potential of ‘shame solidarity’ can be shamelessly explored. If you would like to perform, please discuss your ideas with the host Sophie Jung at least one hour before the event starts or send them to events@fondationbeyeler.ch in advance. Whether you attend as an audience member or as a contributor, the ‘Critical Cringe Night’ promises to be an evening like no other. This event will be held in English. Meeting point: Foyer. Enjoy a relaxed evening out at the museum after work: ‘Friday Beyeler’ is the perfect way to kick off the weekend. The museum is open until 9 pm and the restaurant until 10 pm. Unless otherwise stated, admission to ‘Friday Beyeler’ is included in the museum ticket. If you spend at least CHF 25 per person in the restaurant, you can enter the museum on the same evening for free. Valid on Fridays between 6 and 9 pm.
