Storytelling Café “Working Hands

Drawing inspiration from the work of American artist Ruth Asawa, the Storytelling Café is devoted to the topic of handicraft and materials. 

It centres on personal stories of working with one’s hands, of learning skills and techniques, of patience, of repetition and of the slow emergence of form – as experienced in weaving, knitting, mending and repairing or any other handicraft.

The Storytelling Café is a free event hosted by the Fondation Beyeler, in which participants are invited to share their personal experiences in a relaxed atmosphere. Listening attentively to the stories told by others brings back memories and opens new perspectives, leading to mutually enlightening exchanges.

Moderation: Monika Hungerbühler, feminist theologian and pastoral worker, trained Storytelling Café facilitator, accompanied by a Fondation Beyeler art educator.

Open to all 18 and over.

Participation is free with a valid ticket.
