It reflects the foundation's philosophy of harmoniously combining art, architecture, and nature. The Fondation Beyeler is committed to sustainable practices and therefore strives to conserve natural resources and reduce its ecological footprint through effective improvements.
In developing and implementing a sustainability concept, it is guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals and places particular focus on themes where it can make a contribution through targeted and concrete measures:

- Energy consumption
- Material consumption and waste
- Procurement and infrastructure
The Fondation Beyeler is at the beginning of a process and sees itself as a “learning organization” that continually evolves, constantly reviews its actions and adapts them where necessary in order to find suitable and effective ways of operating in an environmentally friendly manner.
