Piet Mondrian Conservation Project

In the summer of 2022, the Fondation Beyeler devoted a comprehensive solo exhibition to Piet Mondrian. It traced the artist's fascinating journey from landscape painter to the radical, concentrated pictorial compositions of lines, planes and colors that made him one of the most important artists of Modernism. In the run-up to the exhibition, the Piet Mondrian Conservation Project was established, which from 2019 to 2021 was dedicated to the technical research into the seven paintings by Mondrian in the collection of the Fondation Beyeler. The project, supported by La Prairie, was comprehensively documented on film and accompanied by a series of videos.
