Sound Garden with Steven Brown
American musician Steven Brown will kick off this year’s Sound Garden at the Fondation Beyeler. The co-founder of the legendary new wave band Tuxedomoon has been developing his own projects for many years, and his performances are often somewhere between concerts and free play. As an expressive singer and multi-instrumentalist, he is always moving beyond clear classifications: between composition and improvisation, acoustic sound design and electronic compression.
Clarinet, keyboard instruments and electronic sounds enter into a lively exchange and develop in the moment. For the Sound Garden, Brown will create an atmospheric tapestry of sound that will flow through the idyllic museum park, inviting you to relax and listen.
The music series will take place every Wednesday from 24 June to 29 July 2026 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the park of the Fondation Beyeler. Admission is free and no prior booking is necessary.
