A Brief Art History of the Dot | 4.10.2025 – 4.1.2026
The Fondation Beyeler’s new collection display focuses on the dot and thus picks up on a central motif in the work of Yayoi Kusama, to whom the museum is simultaneously dedicating a major retrospective. The exhibition explores different aspects of the dot within its artistic development from the late 19th century to the present day.
Yayoi Kusama | 12.10.2025 – 25.1.2026
In the autumn of 2025, the Fondation Beyeler will be the first museum in Switzerland to devote a retrospective to renowned Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama (*1929, Matsumoto). Organised in close collaboration with the artist and her studio, the exhibition will offer a complete overview of Kusama’s more than seven-decade career.
Cezanne | 25.1. – 25.5.2026
For the first time in its history, the Fondation Beyeler will devote an exhibition to Paul Cezanne, a pioneer of modern art and one of the most important artists in the museum’s collection. The exhibition will focus on the last and most significant phase of the artist’s career, highlighting key themes of his later years, among them still lifes, portraits, landscapes and bather scenes. Bringing together around 50 oil paintings and watercolours, the exhibition will bring to life Cezanne’s groundbreaking work as regards form, light and colour – the qualities that have inspired and influenced artists for generations and through to the present day.
Pierre Huyghe | 24.5. – 13.9.2026
The Fondation Beyeler will present a major new exhibition of Pierre Huyghe (1962, Paris), one of the most innovative and influential contemporary artists. In an exhibition exclusively conceived for the Fondation Beyeler, newly created works will feature alongside key pieces from recent years.
