Visitors who are deaf or hard of hearing are invited to discover the artworks in the current exhibition in this tour with a guide and a simultaneous interpreter. A dialogue is thus established directly in front of the works.

Exhibition «Rodin/Arp»

The Fondation Beyeler’s Wednesday Matinée invites you to discover the works of Auguste Rodin (1840–1917) and Hans Arp (1886–1966), presented here in dialogue for the first time. The two sculptors’ exceptionally prolific oeuvres display numerous artistic affinities and common references as well as marked differences, turning the confrontation of their works into a particularly insightful visual experience.

On four weekends, the Open Studio invites all interested visitors to experiment in three dimensions and create their own sculptures and objects.

Participation is free of charge and open to all age groups (children until 12 in company of an adult). Registration is not required.

Renzo Piano’s museum architecture

One of the Fondation Beyeler’s most important works is the museum building itself, designed by Renzo Piano. During the architecture tour, you will learn the story of its making — from Ernst Beyeler's initial idea to the inauguration in 1997. Structural features, the relationship between interior and exterior space, the subtle lighting and the unique dialogue between architecture, art, and nature are also discussed.

A workshop for everyone between 15 and 30 years

Once a month you have the chance to look at art critically and discuss with like-minded peers, and then be artistic yourself. The focus is on playful experimentation and experiencing new things. The program changes from month to month and is designed by our young art mediators.

Price: 15-25 years CHF 10.- / over 25 years CHF 20.- / free for Young Art Club members

A ramble between language and image

A literary tour of the Rodin/Arp exhibition gives participants a deeper understanding of the way in which the artworks relate to language, text and poetry. Inspiring connections are established to allow visitors to delve into the images’ textual traces and into visual textures.
