Guided tour by art educators from the Fondation Beyeler
Schools

Dear teachers,
We would be delighted to welcome you and your class to the Fondation Beyeler. Our museum offers a unique setting to encounter art. Here, pupils and students can examine masterpieces of "classical modernism" and works of contemporary art and learn more about them on guided tours and in workshops. Thanks to a generous donation from the AVINIA FOUNDATION (AVINIA STIFTUNG), all tours and workshops for school classes in 2015 are free of charge. You need only pay the museum’s normal admission prices.

To ensure that your visit runs smoothly, and for security and organizational reasons, we kindly request you to observe the museum’s Rules for Visitors (see below). Owing to the need to limit the number of groups and individuals visiting the museum at the same time, please appreciate that only a certain number of school classes can be admitted per day.

Furthermore, we would like to ask you to book tours online only, with the forms below. Please understand that we won't be able to make any exceptions to the days, times and group sizes concerned.

House Rules for School Classes

The Fondation Beyeler is home to paintings and sculptures that are priceless in value. On no account may these works of art be touched. As a teacher, you are responsible for the behaviour of your pupils. We would therefore ask you to read out and explain our Rules for Visitors to your class before you visit the museum. Thank you for your co-operation.

Rules for Visitors

  • School classes must be accompanied by a teacher at all times. Unsupervised classes are not permitted to visit the museum.
  • The size of any group must not exceed 25 persons.
  • All bags, rucksacks, jackets, coats and umbrellas must be deposited in the cloakroom before you start your visit.
  • Please make sure your pupils/students wear the Fondation Beyeler stickers you are given. This will help our staff to identify you as an official group.
  • The pictures are equipped with alarm sensors. Please ensure that the members of your group do not get too close to any of the works of art.
  • Please keep all passages clear so as not to obstruct other visitors.
  • Drawing is allowed in the museum, but only with pencil. Pencils can be obtained from the cloakroom.
  • No photographs may be taken in the museum without authorization from the Chief Curator's Office.

Please obey all instructions you are given by members of the museum's staff. They are responsible for the smooth running of the museum and the safety of the works of art.

All that remains is for us to wish you an enjoyable and inspiring visit to the museum.
